Frangipani Teatime: An Ode to Common Goldfish | Hazelhurst Gardens

‘Frangipani Teatime’ is an artwork that celebrates the beauty of the common goldfish, nestled in the peaceful setting of Hazelhurst Gardens. This piece takes inspiration from the watercourse, where the goldfish can be found swimming. The frangipani plant, with its soft pink petals and strong fragrance, exists as an extension of the garden surrounds. The work symbolises my grandmother and sisters, a dream like scene, which is also reflected in the movement of the goldfish. Together, they create a harmonious and soothing atmosphere, which invites the viewer to relax and appreciate the simple pleasures of nature.
