LAKE PARRA | Parramatta Lanes 2023

‘Lake Parra’, painted by Christina Huynh, is one of three murals installed in Phillip Ln, in the heart of Parramatta CBD, commissioned by Parramatta City Council for the Parramatta Lanes 2023 festival.

Working alongside Reubszz and Sam Absurd for our murals in Phillip Lane was an enjoyable and memorable experience, especially since I have lived, studied and work in the area. I love to share work that is close to me, which is why I chose to feature Lake Parramatta in the mural, it’s a hidden gem in the middle of a thriving city and teeming with robust native flora and curious fauna like the superb Fairy Wren pictured in the mural.

My family and I have shared so many special memories over the years however bushwalking is one of my favourite things to do here so in my mural, I wanted to highlight the importance of reconnecting with nature when life gets busy and overwhelming.
