MECHA FISH | WONDERWALLS FESTIVAL 2022

'Mecha Fish' by Christina Huynh is one of 13 murals painted for the Wonderwalls Festival in 2022. Curated by Verb Syndicate, Wonderwalls celebrates its 10th year as Australia's largest and longest-running Street Art Festival. Returning to Port Kembla and featuring 14 of Australia's leading mural artists, the festival transformed the port town into a permanent 24/7 outdoor exhibition.

Steel goldfish painting by Christina Huynh STYNA.

The mural's subject matter is an upcycled sculpture/ setting of two mechanic goldfish characters dancing through blooming camellias. I found inspiration through fantasy/ sci-fi films, creatures that flow and flourish and the look and colour tones of weathering steel.
